1. 用作動詞，通常不及物。如：

My tooth ache. 我的牙痛。

I’m aching all over. 我全身都痛。

2. 用作名詞，通�？蓴�(shù)。如：

I have an ache in my stomach. 我胃痛。

His body was all aches and pains. 他渾身疼痛。

注：用作名詞的 ache 通常用于復合詞中。如：headache(頭痛)，toothache(牙痛)，stomachache(胃痛)，backache(背痛)，earache(耳痛)等。在這些帶有 -ache 的復合詞中，headache 是一個規(guī)則的可數(shù)名詞(可與不定冠詞連用，也可有復數(shù)形式)，而其它的詞則用作可數(shù)或不可數(shù)名均可(在美國英語中通常用作可數(shù)名詞)。如：

I’ve got a headache. 我頭痛。

He often gets stomachache(s). 他經(jīng)常肚子痛。
