(1) sometime意為“某個(gè)時(shí)候”，可用于將來或過去來。如：
Come to see us sometime. 什么時(shí)候來看看我們。

We’ll meet again sometime next week. 我們下星期什么時(shí)候再碰頭。
We will hold a meeting sometime next week. 下個(gè)星期的某個(gè)時(shí)候我們將要開個(gè)會(huì)。
I saw him sometime in May. 我是五月什么時(shí)候見到他的。
I bought it sometime last spring. 我是去年春天什么時(shí)候買的。
Our house was built sometime around 195o. 我們的房子是195o年前后什么時(shí)候蓋的。
【注】這樣用的 sometime 也可寫成 some time (即分開寫)。如：

(2) some time 有兩個(gè)用法：用作副詞詞組，意為“任何時(shí)候”或“某個(gè)時(shí)候”(= sometime);用作名詞詞組，意為“一段時(shí)間”(不能寫成 sometime)。如：
It takes quite some time. 它要花相當(dāng)多時(shí)間。
Please phone me some time next week. 下個(gè)星期什么時(shí)候給我打個(gè)電話吧。
We lived in the country for some time. 我們?cè)谵r(nóng)村住過一段時(shí)間。
I’m afraid it’ll take some time to repair your car. 恐怕修你的車要花相當(dāng)多時(shí)間。

We sometimes act on instinct. 我們有時(shí)憑本能行事。
Sometimes he went there by bus. 有時(shí)他坐公共汽車去那兒。

Sometimes we’re busy and sometimes we’re not. 我們有時(shí)很忙，有時(shí)不忙。
Living conditions in the city are sometimes unbearable. 城市的生活條件有時(shí)很難忍受。
