1. 表示“口音”、“腔調(diào)”

注意以下幾點：

①通常為可數(shù)名詞，表示帶有某種口音或腔調(diào)，通常用介詞 with或 in：

He speaks with a Southern accent. 他說話帶有南方口音。

He speaks French with [in] an English accent. 他講法語時帶有英國腔。

偶爾也可用作不可數(shù)名詞：

He told me his story in broken accent. 他語不成句地對我敘述了他的經(jīng)歷。

He speaks without (an) accent. 他說話不帶地方口音(土音)。

2. 表示“重音”

是可數(shù)名詞：

The word "lady" has its accent on the first syllable. lady 這個詞的重音在第一個音節(jié)。

3. 表示“強調(diào)”或“重點”

可用作可數(shù)或不可數(shù)名詞，但用作可數(shù)名詞時通常用單數(shù)形式：

In all our products the accent is on quality. 在我們的所有產(chǎn)品中，最重視的就是質(zhì)量。
