Dear editor,
I’m a student in Senior Three. We have made a survey ? “Who do you turn to when in trouble?” Here are the results.
Most of the students will go to their classroom or friends when in trouble they’re almost of the same age, so they can talk with and understand each other easily. Some students will tell their teachers or parents about their troubles and ask for their help as the teachers and parents have rich experience and love them very much. They can be trusted by theses students, Only a few students solve their problems all by themselves. They hate to talk with others and can’t get on well with others. They have few friends.
In my opinion, when trouble we’d better ask our teachers, parents, friends or classmates for help. Different people have different experiences. And they are likely to help you out of the troubles. Then you can remove some of your difficulties and feel relaxed.
Thank you. Best wishes!
Yours,
Jack

On Exams in Schools
The usual exams with three different roles in schools can be used to effectively check students’ memory or evaluate their ability, have inspiriting function to cultivate many qualities essential to students' development, such as ambition, perseverance, discipline and so on, and can tell a teacher how efficient his or her teaching is.
But too many exams can bring side effects to the students, such as too much pressure, worries, upset and so on. Besides, high emphasis on knowledge rather than ability in the exam may restrict the student only to memory not to their development or innovation. So we may improve exams to design the questions in the test focusing on ability and skills, not the stiff knowledge. Finally, exams can manifest in diverse forms, written test is one kind, not all. So in the future, besides closed test, teachers are encouraged to develop other kinds of exams.
